Excursion to Lake Issyk
The excursion program:
The route to one of the most beautiful gorges of Trans-Ili Alatau — Issyk Kulja runs along the path, where the caravans were hundreds of years ago.
On the way you will get acquainted with the history and nature of this region, as well as c archaeological monuments Saka culture — burial mounds, burial grounds, where was found the famous «Golden Man», which became the national symbol of the Republic of Kazakhstan. You will also visit the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve «Issyk», which will be introduced with exhibits on the history and culture of the Saka period, including a copy of the Golden Man and gold jewelry, ancient pottery, weapons, items of horse equipment, as well as model Saka mound in section.
Then the tour route will take you to an altitude of 1756 meters above sea level, to the beautiful mountain lake Issyk sprawled in the eponymous valley. The lake was formed about 10 thousand years ago as a result of the huge-scale landslide, the result of which was the formation of a natural dam about 300 meters high.
On the lake you can enjoy the indescribable beauty of the Issyk gorge and turquoise water surface, as well as to hear the details of the natural disaster in 1963. On the lake you will have a picnic and free time for outdoor recreation.
